Dental trauma is an acute disease of the hard tissues, pulp and periodontium, seen most often in young people. Infection is seldom involved, so treatment can stay conservative: pulpotomy over pulpectomy, simple composite restorations over complex prosthetics, replantation over extraction.
Complex implant plans often overlook transplantation. Where a site would need a sinus lift or ridge augmentation, a donor tooth from the same mouth can be the better option, and below the age of twenty an implant is hardly indicated. Shown on many clinical cases.

Dr. Tsukiboshi graduated from Osaka University School of Dentistry in 1976, earned a PhD in dental materials from Kyoto University in 1980 and has been in private practice since 1981.
